Ruacana boosts power supply in July
Namibia generated 110 380 MWh of electricity from its own sources in July 2018, the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) said in its latest sectoral report. This pushed up the sub-index for power generated from own sources by 51.4% compared to July 2017. The NSA contributed the increase to bigger output from the Ruacana Power Station. In total, 357 273 MWh was distributed in the domestic economy in July. Of this, 323 915 MWh was imported – 1.1% less than in July 2017. A total of 9 557 MWh was exported, up 10.7% from a year ago.
