N$3 bn to be paid in VAT refunds
New finance minister Iipumbu Shiimi says government will “immediately speed up” the repayment of overdue or undisputed VAT refunds.
Shiimi this afternoon at State House announced government’s N$8-billion stimulus and relief package to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 on Namibia’s economy.
He said these repayments will be accelerated to “enhance the cash flow of enterprises” paying value-added tax (VAT).
“The total amount of these refunds to [be] settled within one week of the implementation of these measures stands at about N$3 billion,” Shiimi said.
