#Covid19SafetyChallenge closing date extended

LifeLine ChildLine, through Uitani Radio, invites young people of all ages to participate in the #Covid19SafetyChallenge.
This competition aims to monitor how many children receive information and messages on Covid-19 in Namibia. LifeLine ChildLine tracks not only the number of children participating but also concludes whether they are receiving the correct information on the global pandemic.
Speaking to The Zone on Tuesday, Opeyemi Toriola, an Uitani Radio intern, said the challenge requires participants to create short video clips that show what they know about the coronavirus, what they have heard about it, how they have been coping during the lockdown and how the pandemic has impacted them.
Toriola said the entries to the challenge, which were slated to close on 7 August, have been extended to 14 August.
“The contest encourages parents’ or guardians’ participation as this could strengthen the video content, but participants will not be penalised for not having them in their video,” he said.
He added there are five categories in the challenge and three winning videos will be selected in each category, namely best drama act clip, best dance clip, best interview clip, best comedy clip and best news report clip.
“We would like to invite you to produce your 30 to 60-second video and equipment and applications like tripods, gimbals, lights, Tik Tok and editing are allowed,” he said.
According to Toriola, the competition is a great opportunity for young individuals to showcase their creativity in style. He added videos can be filmed in any Namibian language of the participants’ choice.
“However, the video must be shot in landscape format and should be filmed in Namibia,” he said.
To enter the challenge, contestants must submit their video via WhatsApp to 081 487 9309. “You must receive a confirmation message before sharing the video on social media,” he said.

A N$150 shopping voucher.
A badged representative as Uitani Radio ambassador at their school or institution.
