SME Bank board, CEO removed
The Bank of Namibia has announced that it has taken control of the SME Bank, including all its assets, following questionable investments in neighbouring South Africa. Bank of Namibia governor Ipumbu Shiimi announced a while ago that the SME Bank CEO, board, manager for treasury as well as finance have all been removed pending an investigation. Benestus Herunga has been appointed as the interim CEO.
