Teachers the heartbeat of education

At Okahandja Secondary School, passion for education runs deep, and for learner Mburumba Tjatuuapo, it’s the driving force behind her love for the institution.

“One thing I love about my school is my subject teachers,” Mburumba said. “My favourite thing about my teachers is the passion they have for teaching, which makes learning so much more enjoyable.”

While Mburumba appreciates the dedication in the classroom, speaking on behalf of other learners, they believe there’s always room for growth. “One thing I could change about my school would be to plan more school events,” she said, highlighting the value of activities that bring the school community together and create lasting memories.

Offering words of wisdom to fellow learners, Mburumba shared a powerful piece of advice: “What you are not changing, you are choosing. Make a list of what is important and focus on that.”

With such a thoughtful outlook, it’s clear that Mburumba not only values education but also understands the importance of self-awareness and personal responsibility.
