NamPower hands over N$341 000 classroom to Rundu school
NamPower this week handed over a newly constructed classroom valued at N$341 077 to Didimika Private School in Rundu.
Speaking at the event, NamPower representative Venesius Kamupo said the power utility believes that a safe, well-equipped learning environment forms the foundation of quality education.
"Learners’ safety, adequate infrastructure and a conducive environment are essential for meaningful schooling," he said.
"These elements improve attendance, enhance learning outcomes and create space for children to grow and thrive,” he added.
Kamupo noted that the new classroom brings an end to overcrowded learning conditions at the school, formerly known as Veronika Thikusho Primary School. “This investment brings dignity, safety and comfort to both teachers and learners."
He said the NamPower Foundation remains committed to supporting sustainable educational initiatives across the country, adding that the handover represents more than a physical structure. “It is an investment in quality education and in the future of this community,” he said, urging learners, teachers and parents to take care of the new facility.
New opportunities
Addressing the learners, Kamupo encouraged them to value the opportunity. “This classroom is more than bricks and cement – it is a space for you to imagine boldly, ask questions and nurture your dreams,” he said, reminding them of former deputy prime minister John Mutorwa’s message that discipline, respect, hard work and a positive attitude open doors to opportunity.
He further called on communities, private entities and government institutions to continue partnering in support of education. “Walls may shape a classroom, but the learning inside will shape a generation,” he said.
Meanwhile, former deputy prime minister John Mutorwa applauded the school for its professionalism, strong work ethic and dedication to academic success.
