AGAINST A WALL

Eliot Ipinge

TINY BIT OF RELIEF: Young learners at Hompa Sophia Mundjembwe Junior Primary School in Rundu are left with no choice but to relieve themselves against a wall.

The available toilets the school shares with Jafet Haihambo Senior Primary School on the same premises are unusable due to years of chronic underfunding and a lack of cleaning staff. Across Namibia's Kavango regions, schools continue to battle severe shortages of functional toilets, clean water and basic sanitation, robbing children of their right to learn in safety and dignity.
