JUST IN: Procurement must be cost-effective

Finance minister Iipumbu Shiimi says when local companies are competing for a tender, there are a number of factors taken into consideration, such as local production capacity, capabilities to supply quality goods or services and whether the company is a small and medium enterprise (SME) or owned by a woman. Preferences will then be given to the most responsive and cost-effective company.
