Toddler drowns in bucket
NEWS IN SHORT
Police in Oshana are investigating a tragic accident after a one-year-old girl drowned in a bucket of water at Oshanawa village, Ongwediva, on Friday afternoon.
Oshana Community Policing Sub-Division spokesperson Inspector Frieda Shikole said the child’s mother, a domestic worker, told police she had just finished mopping and had left the bucket of water outside before going to the kitchen.
The toddler allegedly wandered off and was later found inside the bucket.
“She took her out of the water and went on to inform her employer,” Shikole said.
