Theofelus warns against complacency in an AI world
Information minister Emma Theofelus has warned that artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping the world of work, leaving many citizens at risk of being left behind in evolving job markets. Speaking at the launch of two books at Welwitchia University yesterday, Theofelus said the rise of AI could render certain skills obsolete if the workforce does not adapt. She stressed that Namibia must urgently respond to the changing technological landscape. "We must be ready to catch up, and as a country, we need to step up our game and conform to this new artificial intelligence landscape,” she said. The books launched are titled Workplace Law: Development and Artificial Intelligence and Telecommunications in Selected Jurisdictions.
