Shorts: Man injured after being found under moving train
A 39-year-old man was hospitalised on Saturday morning after he was discovered under a train near the Mondesa graveyard in Swakopmund.
The incident occurred around 04:00 on 2 August 2025, when a train travelling from Swakopmund to Arandis came to a halt after the locomotive’s engineer spotted an unusual object lying between the tracks.
According to the police, the train driver and his assistant stopped the locomotive and went to investigate, only to find the man beneath the train. He had sustained multiple injuries to both arms.
Emergency services were immediately alerted, and the injured man was transported to the Swakopmund State Hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition.
The circumstances leading to the man being under the train remain unclear, and police investigations are ongoing.
