SHORT NEWS: Erongo police launch festive season raodblocks

Festive-season roadblocks were officially launched across the Erongo Region on Tuesday, with intensified traffic enforcement set to run until 16 January 2026. Regional police commander, Commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona, warned that drunk driving, speeding and driver fatigue remain the leading causes of deadly crashes as holiday traffic volumes surge on national roads. The official launch was held at the Swakopmund roadblock.
