SHORT: Boy (13) drowns at Okahao
A tragic drowning incident claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy at Oshilulu village in the Okahao Constituency, Omusati Region, on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 15:00 while the boy was out looking after goats with two others.
According to reports, the deceased, identified as Sakeus Mbwalala Shigwedha, was left alone momentarily when his companions went to retrieve the goats. Upon their return, they found that Sakeus had removed his clothes and jumped into a nearby water well. Concern grew quickly when he did not resurface. Local residents, including elderly individuals, rushed to the scene and managed to retrieve him from the well. Unfortunately, Sakeus was declared dead at the scene.
The incident was reported to authorities at Oshifo location, and law enforcement officers promptly attended the scene.
