Rundu orders vendors to move away from Duns
Street vendors trading between Duns and PEP at a private shopping complex in Rundu town have been ordered to vacate the premises by 31 March 2026. In a letter dated 5 March addressed to the vendors, Town Council CEO Olavi Nathanael said the council had been informed by the property owner that street vending would no longer be permitted on the premises, and that affected vendors were instructed to relocate to designated municipal trading areas where space is available. The decision has sparked outrage among vendors, who say they were not consulted and are now being forced to move far from their customer base, threatening their livelihoods.
