Nekundi reveals NaTIS mobile station
Minister of Works and Transport, Veikko Nekundi, has revealed the introduction of a “NaTIS on Wheels” mobile station, which will be rolled out in May. The mobile unit will provide over-the-counter NaTIS services to rural communities, improving access for those who are often unable to visit fixed offices. Each region is expected to receive one “NaTIS on Wheels” unit. Nekundi emphasised that many farm workers rarely have the opportunity to access NaTIS offices due to time constraints and long travel distances. The introduction of the mobile stations is therefore expected to significantly improve service delivery by bringing essential services directly to rural areas. Each mobile unit can accommodate up to eight learners at a time, allowing approximately 40 learners to complete testing per day. The cost of each mobile station is estimated at N$4.2 million.
