Man drowns in water canal

A man’s body was found floating in a water canal in Akalungu village in the Omusati Region on Tuesday.
Nandu Kanusu’s body was discovered in the canal next to Okanala location just 30 minutes after he was last seen.
According to the Namibian Police, Kanusu is originally from Okalonga village in the Cunene Province of Angola.
Omusati regional commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, confirmed the incident, adding that the deceased was last seen at around 15:30 on Tuesday afternoon.
He was drinking alcohol at the time, and it was then discovered he had drowned in the canal.
The body is being kept at the Oshifo police mortuary and will be transported to the Okahao police mortuary for a postmortem, Basson said.
