A 46-year-old man died on Wednesday after allegedly falling from a moving vehicle at Kahenge village in the Kavango West Region.

Chief inspector Raimbert Muronga of the Kavango West police confirmed the incident, which took place at around 18:00.

The deceased was identified as Ncame Vilho Kamati, and was employed by the driver of the vehicle. His next of kin have been informed.

According to Muronga, it is alleged that the driver of a white Toyota Land Cruiser left the road to make a right turn, when Kamati - who had been sitting on the back of the vehicle - fell off and sustained a head injury.

"The victim was rushed to Nankudu State Hospital, where he was declared dead by a medical officer,” Muronga said.

His remains are being kept at the hospital mortuary, pending an autopsy. Police investigations continue.
