#JustIn: Roads claim five lives during Easter
Five people died in car and road accidents during the Easter weekend.
A four-year-old and a nine-year-old died in Onayena and Outjo respectively.
In Onayena, a father allegedly parked his car outside the house after arriving home from work. He then reportedly went inside the house and left his children, who were near the car, outside. While he was inside, he allegedly heard crying and rushed outside to find one of the two children lying on the ground with blood on his head. The child was taken to the nearest hospital but was declared dead there.
In Outjo, a 41-year-old woman allegedly lost control of the vehicle she was driving, and a nine-year-old boy died when the car rolled. The other passengers (aged four, five, and 54) were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
One person died in Karibib when a train collided with a double-cab bakkie carrying 14 people.
Two pedestrians were killed in Windhoek and Groot Aub respectively.
