The family of the missing 26-year-old Beatus Tuna Iiyambo yesterday protested at the Otjomuise police station against what they describe as slow progress in the investigation into his disappearance. The younger brother, Natanael Katuta, said Tuna arrived in Windhoek on 11 January for a job promised by a man identified as Shapaka Kandoosha from Otjomuise. Katuta said Kandoosha called their mother the following morning at around 07h00, telling her that Iiyambo was hallucinating seeing cats and people following him. Katuta further said that Iiyambo later left the premises, allegedly telling Kandoosha that he was going to buy airtime, but never returned.
