Baby drowns in bucket

A one-year-old baby boy drowned in a bucket at Onziku village in the Omusati Region’s Oshikuku constituency last weekend.
The deceased was identified as Lukas Hamadhila.
Omusati police spokesperson Moses Simaho said the incident took place at around 11:00 on Saturday.
It is alleged that the baby drowned in a bucket of water that was left in the kitchen. He was discovered by other children who went to inform their parents, and the police were subsequently informed.
“The deceased was playing with other children, then left, and later the others started to look for him and discovered him drowned in the bucket,” Simaho said.
The body was taken to the Oshikuku hospital mortuary and will be transported to the Okahao police station mortuary for a postmortem.
