ACC arrests former Otavi acting CEO for promoting himself

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a former Human Resources Officer at the Otavi Town Council, who was acting as Chief Executive Officer, for allegedly promoting himself to a non-existent position of Manager: Human Resources. The accused was arrested on 23 March 2026 and charged under Section 43(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act for allegedly abusing his position for personal gain. He was granted bail of N$10 000, and the matter was postponed to 12 May 2026 at the Regional Court in Otjiwarongo.
