SA hiker missing in Fish River Canyon
Police launched a search yesterday morning for a South African hiker reported missing in the Fish River Canyon last week.
//Kharas regional crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Nicodemus Mbango, confirmed that 63-year-old Jacobus Linteeze was last seen on 16 May while hiking with a group of 12 in the canyon.
When the group exited the canyon on Sunday, they waited for Linteeze, but he never emerged. Members of the group returned to search for him but were unsuccessful.
Police were deployed early yesterday to assist with the search operation.
