#JustIn: Tourism stats back to seasonal trends

Occupancy rates in Namibia’s hospitality industry averaged 31.7% in February this year, compared to 37.1% the previous month and 22.5% in February 2022, according to the latest Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN) data.

Commenting on the figures, Simonis Storm (SS) said the data continued to follow its longer-term seasonal trend, where occupancy rates typically dip every January and remain below average until Namibia’s peak tourist season commences in May and lasts to September.

“February and March usually are the most quiet months for tourism in Namibia,” SS quoted HAN CEO Gitta Paetzold.
