There’s a certain kind of artist whose work doesn’t just entertain but also resonates and speaks directly to something deeper.

Latoya Stella is one of those artists, and with her latest release, 'Moto', she is stepping fully into her power.

Through 'Moto', Stella wants listeners to reconnect with their own inner strength, that quiet but powerful force that often goes unnoticed or is dimmed by doubt.

“I want people to feel empowered and reminded of what they carry inside,” she said.

The creation of the song was less about calculation and more about emotion, Stella explained.

"The production, the lyrics, and the energy all aligned in a way that felt both effortless and deeply intentional."

Ready to rise

The release marks a turning point in Stella’s artistic journey.

It reflects a version of herself that is more self-aware, more driven, and more certain of her direction.

“I’m no longer questioning my place,” she said.

“I know what I carry, and I’m ready to elevate.”

Her sound, rooted in African rhythm and expression, continues to evolve. It’s fluid, emotionally driven and unafraid to experiment, while still staying grounded in authenticity, a value she holds at the core of her artistry.

“Authenticity is everything,” Stella emphasised.

“My music is a direct reflection of who I am.”

Like many independent artists, she has experienced her share of challenges.

Navigating the industry without strong connections has required grit and unwavering self-belief.

But those very challenges have shaped her into the artist she is today. “I’ve had to trust that my talent will create its own space,” she noted.

And it’s working.

Seeing people genuinely connect with her music and witnessing opportunities once imagined slowly becoming reality has been one of the most rewarding aspects of her journey.

New wave

Her Namibian roots play a central role in shaping her sound and storytelling, bringing a unique cultural richness that sets her apart.

As the Namibian music industry continues to grow and gain visibility, Stella sees herself as part of a new wave of artists pushing boundaries and expanding its reach.

“I’m inspired by artists who are fearless in their expression and intentional with their artistry,” she said.

Each collaboration, each release and each step forward has contributed to her growth, both creatively and professionally.

And while she acknowledged how far she’s come, she’s clear that this is only the beginning. Fans and music lovers can expect “more music, more visuals and a deeper connection to my artistry."

Through her music, Stella hopes to inspire others to recognise their own inner fire and to keep it burning no matter what.
