While the beauty industry may seem routine to some, Jenita Ndapandula Amupolo, founder and owner of Nails by Dulla, is transforming it into a revolutionary and bold space for artistry, self-expression and business innovation.

For Amupolo, every client session is more than a service, it's a creative collaboration.

Each person who chooses to sit in a Nails by Dulla chair has a vision they wish to see brought to life.

The vision may either be a precise design Amupolo must replicate or a vague idea – but Amupolo is always ready to meet the challenge.

Time management is also important, Amupolo says.

She must consistently find ways to complete her work precisely and efficiently, without compromising quality. Yet she approaches every challenge with confidence.

Her confidence was tested on some of her more demanding projects, including a set she designed inspired by Jägermeister. While the project was not technically difficult, it required sustained focus and endurance.

The artist and her trusted clients

Amupolo’s willingness to push boundaries is evident in the ambitious projects she takes on.

She credits much of her distinctive approach to the trust her clients place in her.

But her success is not based on skill alone; personality is also a key factor.

Amupolo has created a space where clients feel comfortable, valued and part of a community.

This approach has helped her build lasting relationships, with repeat clientele playing a key role in her business success.

Not just pretty colours

Like many young entrepreneurs, her work is also a journey of self-discovery.

She believes that running a business requires focus. Despite her achievements, she says there are still many misconceptions about young entrepreneurs.

She believes many misunderstand the patience and grit needed to build a business from scratch.

She also believes there are misconceptions about nail technicians in Namibia.

“People often try to rank careers, but every profession plays a role in society. At the end of the day, it’s about building a sustainable livelihood and expressing your craft.” Amupolo says.

Diversifying expertise

Always looking forward, Amupolo has managed to take her business beyond nail art.

By venturing into tooth gems and training courses, she has managed to capitalise on her experience and upcoming trends.

As she continues to grow her brand, one thing remains clear: Jenita Amupolo is not just doing nails, she is redefining what it means to be a young creative entrepreneur in Namibia.
