Dancers take centre stage at PSTBT Windhoek Cultural Festival
The PSTBET Windhoek Cultural Festival is set to be one of the most exciting yet, running from 30 April to 3 May and showcasing a range of activities, including dance, fashion and fitness initiatives.
This year's festival will also feature its first ever dance competition. This new addition marks a change from previous years' general talent contests, where dancers never quite got their much-deserved limelight.
“The response to our call for dancers has been very good so far," the City of Windhoek said in a statement.
"In our past events, we usually had a general talent show, but this time we decided to focus more on dance and give dancers from all genres a chance to take part and showcase their talent," they added.
The centrepiece of the festival is the Dance Off contest, featuring solo and group dancers competing for a top prize of N$8 000.
Expect dancers from styles ranging from contemporary to traditional, reflecting Namibia's rich cultural diversity.
Beyond the Dance Off, the festival also features a marathon and a pageant, rounding out a packed programme of events.
Organisers promise a dynamic fusion of culture, creativity and good company, ensuring there is something for everyone.
The festival's theme this year centres on culture, empowerment and creativity.
With excitement already building, the 2026 PSTBET Windhoek Cultural Festival looks set to be an unmissable date in Namibia's cultural calendar.
