Candice van Rensburg's honest approach to real beauty

At just 20 years old, Namibian entrepreneur and content creator Candice van Rensburg is proving that age is no barrier when passion meets persistence.

Describing herself as a “vibrant, hard-working go-getter", Van Rensburg has built a growing beauty brand rooted in honesty, transparency and real results.

It was frustration that first pushed her to start her own business.

After repeatedly being disappointed by store-bought natural hair products, she decided to take matters into her own hands. What started as personal research soon turned into homemade formulas designed specifically for her own hair needs.

“People started noticing that my hair was healthy and in good condition and wanted to know my secret,” she explained.

Unlike many entrepreneurs who spend years debating whether to start, Van Rensburg said she simply “couldn’t wait".

She noticed a major gap in the natural hair care industry, especially for women with textured hair, and decided to become part of the solution instead of continuing to complain about the problem.

“Being young meant I didn’t have a long list of reasons why it wouldn’t work. I was naive enough to start and stubborn enough to keep going.” she said

Although the business initially felt like a side project, everything changed when word of mouth led to strangers contacting her about the effectiveness of her products.

Never give up

One message in particular stood out: a customer shared before-and-after photos and thanked her for creating something that genuinely worked.

“That’s when it clicked, this wasn’t just me experimenting in my kitchen anymore," she said.

Building her brand independently has not been easy.

Van Rensburg admitted that there were moments of loneliness, failed product batches and nights spent answering customer messages while questioning whether she was capable of doing it all on her own.

Despite the challenges, she says every success feels more rewarding because of the personal work invested into every bottle and every order.

All-round beauty and care

Her vision extends beyond hair care.

Through her make-up line and social media content, she hopes to challenge unrealistic beauty standards and promote self-confidence without “the smoke and mirrors".

She wants people to feel like themselves, not a fixed-up version of someone else.

As a content creator, Van Rensburg has also built a following by showing the unfiltered side of beauty and entrepreneurship. Instead of polished perfection, she shares failed experiments, honest reviews and real experiences. For her, the motivation remains deeply personal.
