Abner Jr Namupala is entering the stage with bold steps with the release of his album Baby Face, which is a major milestone both personally and professionally for the artist.

At the tender age of 28, Abner Jr Namupala is not only releasing an album but is releasing himself to the world.

The album has a total of nine tracks. According to Abner Jr Namupala, the number of tracks was natural once the story was clear.

Each song contributes to the overarching story of love, relationships, and the intricacies of dating in the modern world.

The album also represents his life as he enters the world of stardom and the reality of gaining popularity.

The title "Baby Face" is not only playful but also symbolic.

While the artist Abner Jr Namupala jokes about the title being inspired by his young looks, the title is also inspired by the legendary R&B artist, singer, songwriter, and producer "Baby Face," whose influence is felt throughout the album.

Just like his inspiration, the artist is proud of being hands-on with his music, having written and produced or co-produced all the songs featured in the album.

The creation of Baby Face was not an overnight process.

Spanning over six to seven years, the album brings together songs written at different stages of his life.

Some tracks date back several years, while others are more recent, creating a layered and evolving body of work.

Recorded across multiple studios in Windhoek including Set Lyfe Studios, MXM Studios, R.E.I.D, and Sonic Studios the project reflects a wide range of emotions and experiences that have shaped him into the artist he is today.

When asked about the most personal track on the album,

Abner Jr Namupala admits it is difficult to choose, as each song holds its own significance.

However, he points to “Save” as particularly meaningful, revealing that it was created during one of the most vulnerable periods of his life.

This emotional depth adds authenticity to the project, allowing listeners to connect with the music on a deeper level.

Collaboration also plays a key role in the album’s sound, with all but one track featuring other artists. Abner Jr Namupala credits these collaborations as the “glue” that brought the project together, expressing gratitude for the talented individuals who contributed and hinting at future creative partnerships.

Despite facing challenges including losing original project files and having to master some songs using only MP3 versions he remained committed to completing the album.
