JUST IN: WACS damage reportedly causes data delays

Recent outages to MTC's voice and mobile data networks are believed to be due to damage to the West African Cable System (WACS). The damage to the WACS cable is believed to have caused a bottleneck in alternative network routes that slowed down data services. MTC said in a statement that network problems in the Erongo region have now been resolved and that they are currently working to address data delays in the rest of the country.
