Sundowns trio doing better than Pitso: Mmotong
Former star Koketso Mmotong claims that Mamelodi Sundowns' current coaching trio are an improvement on Pitso Mosimane.
During his tenure at Sundowns, Mosimane clinched a record-setting five league titles, two Nedbank Cups, two Telkom Knockout cups, alongside one CAF Champions League and a Super Cup trophy.
Despite this, Sundowns' former winger is claiming that the trio of Rulani Mokwena, Manqoba Mngqithi and Steve Komphela are an improvement on Mosimane's spell.
"First of all, I don't think it's about them but about Sundowns," Mmotong tells KickOff.
"If Sundowns do well obviously the coaches will be recognised.
"Yes, Sundowns should be winning the Champion League, but not because of the coaches, but because of the quality players, they have.
"The current coaches can easily win the Champions League if they do things the way Pitso did it before, it's easy for Sundowns.
"They are three and Pitso led the team as one man, so I think they are on the same level.
"They are even doing better than Pitso because there are three of them.
"I think they are underrated because they are doing well in the DStv Premiership and the Champions League, so they deserve the respect."
Sundowns recorded the highest total by a team in the group stages of the CAF Champions League Sundowns after a 3-0 win over Al Merrikh on Saturday.
