Napso does it again!

The Namibian Private Schools Organisation (Napso) held a successful event over the weekend in Swakopmund, with close to 400 athletes from 17 schools participating at the Vineta Sports Stadium.This year's event was hosted by Pro-Ed Academy, thus bringing together schools from across Namibia to compete in various track and field items.There were exceptional performances from most athletes, clearly showing that youth athletics is alive and well. This sentiment was supported by Wouter Niehaus, the CEO of Napso, who said the unity among schools created by the organisation is excellent as it creates a platform for young athletes to compete.Niehaus thanked the sponsors - Coca-Cola, Wimpy, Pro-Ed Academy, Nictus, Spar, The Dome, Netwerk, Cricket Namibia, Build It, Channel 7, Securitas, North West University and Namibia Media Holdings’ My Zone - adding that since the inception of Napso, they have trusted them to carry the brand to new heights.The next MbomaOne of the athletes in the under-15 category, Rejoice Iiyambo won gold in three categories - the 100-metre, 200 m and long jump – and said the experience was amazing. The young athlete looks up to Namibian track and field sensation Christine Mboma and said she will continue to work hard to achieve track and field success.She added that next year will be bigger and better for her and that she hopes to return and defend her titles.Next year’s Napso athletics will be held in Keetmanshoop.Photos from the event are available on the My Zone and Sport Wrap digital platforms.
