Pam Golding Properties Swakopmund has handed over N$80 000 to the Have-A-Heart Foundation, following last month’s successful potjiekos competition at the Paintball Centre.
Speaking at the handover, event organiser Gerda Christoph described the initiative as a proud moment for the Swakopmund branch. “After our very successful potjiekos competition, this is the value we can hand over with an absolute smile,” she said.
“Have-A-Heart does really fantastic work out in the field with the animals and the community, and we are proud of them and of ourselves as a team. We have done it.”
The fundraising competition drew 15 corporate teams, each presenting their own theme and unique potjie dish.
King Law took top honours with their ossobuco, followed by the Swakopmund Veterinary Clinic’s 101 Dalmatians team in second place and the Windhoek Mademoiselles in third.
Although the initial target of N$100 000 was not reached, Christoph said the outcome exceeded expectations and highlighted the generosity of the community.
“A big thank you to the Swakopmund and Walvis Bay communities for their open-hearted support,” she said.
The non-profit Have-A-Heart Foundation provides free sterilisation and veterinary care for dogs and cats in disadvantaged communities across Namibia.
