N$6 million woodwork project creates 18 jobs in Kavango West

The Mutjimagumwe Community Woodwork Cooperative Project in Mpungu, Kavango West, valued at N$6 million, officially launched last Friday and has already created 18 jobs for local artisans.
Environment minister Indileni Daniel inaugurated the project, which produces high-quality, homegrown furniture while also repairing broken school chairs and tables for reuse in the region and beyond.
Funded through the Global Environmental Facility and implemented under the Namibia Integrated Landscape Approach for Enhancing Livelihoods and Environmental Governance (NILALEG) project, the initiative is a partnership between the ministry and the United Nations Development Programme.
