#Justin: Namibia’s Coetzee misses long jump final

Namibia’s Lionel Coetzee today could not qualify for the final at the Athletics World Championships.
Coetzee struggled under pressure and ended 29th out of 37 competitors with 7.55 m. That is 72 cm short of his Namibian record. His personal best is 8.27 m, which he achieved earlier this year at the National Senior Namibian Championships in Windhoek.
The qualifying standard to reach the final is 8.00 m.
The twelve qualifiers for the final are: 1 Wayne Pinnock (Jamaica, world leading 8.54 m), 2 Jianan Wang (China, season best 8.34 m), 3 Miltiadis Tentoglou (Greece, 8.25 m), 4 Carey Mcleod (Jamaica, 8.19 m), 5 Alejandro Parada (Cuba, 8.13 m), 6 Simon Ehammer (Switzerland, 8.13 m), 7 William Williams (USA, 8.13 m), 8 Tajay Gayle (Jamaica, 8.13 m), 9 Radek Juška (Czech Republic, 8.10 m), 10 Marquis Dendy (USA, 8.08 m), 11 Thobias Montler (Sweden, 8.03 m), 12 Jeswin Aldrin (India, 8.00 m).
