Africa-Asia quadrangular tournament on the cards

Seniors to show their mettle
The Veterans Cricket Association of Namibia (VCAN) will face the likes of South Africa, Zimbabwe, and United Arab Emirates.
The Veterans Cricket Association of Namibia (VCAN) is scheduled to compete in the annual Africa-Asia quadrangular tournament from 27 November until 1 December at Irene Country Club and Cornwall Hill College in South Africa.

The VCAN formed part of the second division of the club league and has been actively training as a team since the last cricket season 2021/2022.

The selection process was based on the availability of players, which led to 14 players after Dr Rudie van Vuuren and Daneel van der Walt were injured.

The Namibia Over-50 team is looking forward to an exciting series against South Africa, Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates.

Getting ready

The Africa-Asia quadrangular tournament was created as a build-up to the Over-50 World Cup, now scheduled for 6 to 20 March 2023.

The first match for Namibia will take place on 27 November against South Africa, the second match will be on 28 November against Zimbabwe, and the third match will be on 30 November against UAE.

The squad consists of: Andy Fallis (captain), Melt van Schoor (vice-captain), Trevor Britten, Rudi Birckenstock, Louis Nortje, Piers Le Strange, Deon Gouws, Ashley Griffiths, Alex Horn, Dawie Hartzenberg, Petrie Theron, Ken Joseph, Willie van Zyl, Francois Erasmus (player/manager), and Norbert Manyande (coach).
