Warriors to play club team in friendly
The Brave Warriors of Namibia travelled to Ghana on Wednesday to camp head of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) which will take place in Ivory Coast.
The competition will run from 13 January to11 February 2024.
While in Ghana, the team will face club team Legon Cities FC on 2 January. The club is 8th on the First Capital Plus Premier League log after 16 games. The log is lead by Samartex and Aduana in second.
The fact that the national team is playing a club team in a friendly due to the fact that the Namibia Football Association does not have funds to approach quality opponents has irked a lot of football fans as they believe that the side should face quality opponents and not select a weak opponent in preparation for Afcon.
Jeraldo Eiseb believes Namibia should have rather approached Zambia or Botswana.
Whereas another fan Michael Paul stated that the friendlies are not meant to be competitive, but to allow the manager to assess his players.
