African Stars’ top scorer this season, Willy Stephanus, has vowed to work harder despite his omission from the Brave Warriors’ 40-man training squad.

The player, who scored 11 goals in the first round of the season, is confident of pushing himself to greater heights after receiving N$2 000 prize money, courtesy of Tujera Financial Services.

“As a player, it is never a good feeling to be omitted from the national team, and I wouldn’t say I was happy.

“I, however, understand the decision of the coach and respect the fact that he has other plans.

“The coach did say there are a lot of matches to come, and that is why I will not panic but continue working hard to become a better player,” Stephanus said.

Motivation

The player praised Tujera Financial Services and African Stars for the “player of the month” recognition.

It is something he believes will push all his teammates to the limit, given that they will be motivated to win the award.

“I am thankful for this club and the support they have given me this season.

“The player of the month award and the N$2 000 will motivate all of us to work harder on and off the pitch.

“I am hoping for a greater second round of the season, and I want to continue where I left off,” Stephanus said.
