Ondjola Annual Sport Bash looms
Sport Bash
The highly anticipated Ondjola Annual Sport Bash is scheduled to take place from 23 to 26 December at the Ondjola Stadium in the Omusati Region of Namibia.
Under the empowering theme “Preserving Culture Through Sports,” the landmark event celebrates more than 15 years as one of the country’s most influential community sports gatherings, particularly in the northern regions, bringing people together to honour both athletic talent and cultural identity.
Located approximately 14 km from Tsandi and 11 km from Okahao, the rural community of Ondjola, home to an estimated 4,000 residents, will again become an epicentre of national sporting excellence and community spirit.
As a dedicated non-profit initiative established in 2009, the bash focuses on fostering youth development, health, and positive social interaction through engaging recreational sports and outdoor exhibitions.
The event consistently draws over 10,000 attendees and participants from all 14 regions of Namibia, promoting values of participation, education, fun, and fair play while actively combatting anti-social behaviour.
The 2025 itinerary promises a diverse range of activities, including highly anticipated tournaments in soccer, netball, boxing, cycling, marathon running, and volleyball.
Beyond the pitch, the event provides a vital boost to the local economy and serves as a premier platform for reputable brand partnerships.
The event has successfully maintained long-standing collaborations with key sponsors such as MTC Salute Boxing, Namib Mills, Namib Breweries, NBC, Nampa, Coca-Cola, Onepoko Cash Loan, Precision Pipes & Valves, Kambwa Trading, and Chico Group of Company.
Organisers are thrilled to welcome new partners headlining the 2025 event: The Save a Rhino Foundation and Endambo Mills, whose involvement underscores a shared commitment to community and conservation.
Jack Iipinge, the organiser of the Ondjola Annual Sport Bash, expressed his appreciation for the event’s continuous growth.
“Traditions are built over time. We have laid the foundations for a valuable community asset. This event has grown massively, and we are calling for continued corporate sponsorship to help us serve our community and ensure the Bash continues to grow,” he stated.
The Ondjola Annual Sport Bash remains a proud platform that not only celebrates sportsmanship, but also provides local athletes with opportunities to showcase their talent, develop their skills, and gain recognition.
In addition to the competitions, the event fosters unity, collaboration, and a sense of belonging within the community, creating lasting memories of achievement while generating positive attention and growth for the local area.
