Nedbank for Good series finale this weekend

Golf
The 2025 Nedbank for Good Series will reach its climax on Friday, when 25 finalists gather at the Omeya Golf Club to contest for top honours in the national finale.

The action tees off at 10:30, bringing together Namibia’s leading amateur golfers for a day of high-level competition while continuing the series’ tradition of supporting charitable causes.

The prize-giving ceremony will follow at 18:00, where the winners will be crowned and the total amount raised for this year’s beneficiary, Agra ProVision, will be announced.

The finalists comprise winners from the regional Nedbank for Good events held across the country, underlining the series’ national reach and commitment to making golf accessible in all corners of Namibia. Players from Omeya, Oranjemund, Gobabis, Okahandja, Mariental, Oshakati, Grootfontein, Outjo, Henties Bay, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, and Windhoek will battle it out in what promises to be a tense and thrilling finale.

Series organiser Dan Zwiebel hailed the growth and impact of the event.

“This year marks an exceptional occasion for us. While last year’s highlight was raising N$1 million, we are proud to have added three new venues, enabling us to reach all 13 registered golf courses in Namibia for the first time. Each town has its own special story, and seeing communities invest in preparing their courses created a truly positive atmosphere. That was a major highlight for us this year.”

The organisers have ensured that the finalists will enjoy a memorable experience, complete with free accommodation, transport, and VIP treatment.

A platform for impact

Beyond competition, the Nedbank for Good Series has made a significant mark on both golf and philanthropy in Namibia, reinforcing its place on the sporting calendar.

Nedbank Namibia’s Chief Commercial Officer, JG van Graan, praised the competitors: “Your dedication and skill have brought you here, and we are proud of each one of you. You are all winners in our eyes.”

He also underlined the charitable impact of the series: “The proceeds this year will go to Agra ProVision, an organisation committed to supporting underserved agricultural communities with essential training and services. This speaks directly to Nedbank’s vision of making a tangible difference in the lives of Namibians by fostering sustainable development.”

Now in its sixth year, the series has grown into one of Namibia’s premier charity sporting events, having reached every registered golf course in the country. Its continued success is fuelled by strong partnerships, with Nedbank Namibia as the title sponsor and support from Autohaus Windhoek, Vivo Energy, AfricaOnline, Agra, B2Gold, Gondwana Collection Namibia, JTC Namibia, King Price, Pupkewitz Megabuild, Town Lodge Windhoek, WV Manufacturing, and Future Media.
