Ndjolonimus departs to Germany
Boxing
The MTC Nestor ‘Sunshine’ Boxing Promotions team jetted off to Germany yesterday as one of their top boxers, Paulinus Ndjolonimus, prepares for a major fight this week.
The boxing bout is an international super middleweight IBF match scheduled for 19 July. Ndjolonimus will face Simon Zachenhuber in a fight the stable hopes he can win.
Mateus “The Beast” Heita will travel to New York City, USA, on Thursday for his WBC interim world title bout against Bruce Carrington on 26 July 2025. Heita holds a record of 14 professional wins (nine by knockout). Carrington, 28, is ranked the number one contender by both the WBO and WBC and is undefeated in 15 professional fights (nine by knockout).
“Both bouts are very important, and we are going for a win. We have prepared very well and are now just doing the final touch-ups. The team is large enough, and we have the capacity to handle both fights,” promoter Nestor Tobias said.
Paulinus travelled with Nestor Tobias and Michael Shange, while Siegfried “SBK” Kaperu and Nicky Natangue will accompany Heita to the USA.
The team in Germany will join the rest in the USA after completing their responsibilities there.
“We would like to thank our main sponsor, MTC, and co-sponsor, PstBet, as well as the whole nation at large for their support,” Tobias said.
