Namibian Electronic Sports Association (NESA) is set to host its most ambitious event yet, MTC NamLAN 2025 - LAN of the Brave, in Windhoek from Thursday to Sunday.
The four-day championship at Vanir Micro Sports Centre features a total prize pool of N$145 000.
NamLAN, humorously dubbed the “LAN of the Brave,” is NESA’s premier in-person gaming event.
It promises to bring together more than 100 of the country’s top players to compete across a variety of platforms and popular game titles. The event is open to spectators who want to experience the intensity of competitive gaming firsthand.
The tournament titles include:
PC competitions: Counter-Strike 2, a tactical first-person shooter with a prize pool of N$30 625, and Assetto Corsa Competizione, a sim racing championship with a prize pool of N$6 125.
Console competitions: Tekken 8, a fighting game tournament boasting a prize pool of N$6 125, and eFootball, a digital football competition with a prize pool of N$6 125.
There will also be mobile gaming championships, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, a multiplayer online battle arena (prize pool: N$30 625), and Call of Duty Mobile, a first-person shooter (prize pool: N$30 625).
The event will also feature a special edition of the NBA2K26 National Qualifiers to be held on Saturday and Sunday. The standalone championship offers a N$17 500 prize pool and serves as Namibia’s pathway to continental competition.
The NamLAN Champion title, awarded to the player demonstrating exceptional skill across multiple disciplines, carries a special prize of N$1 000.
Participation, community opportunities
Players must be fully registered members of NESA to compete. More information about the tournament is available at namlan.org.
NESA is also seeking community members to fill leadership positions, including executive committee member, treasurer, events coordinator, technical officer and vice president. Details are available on the NESA portal.
Reflecting on the upcoming event, NESA president Flip de Bruyn expressed pride in the growth of esports in the country.
“NamLAN is more than just crowning champions. It builds community, creates opportunities and showcases the country’s gaming excellence,” he said.
De Bruyn further invited community members to join the leadership team and help shape the future of Namibia’s competitive gaming.
