Engines are firing up at the Tony Rust Race Track as the highly anticipated 2025 Motorsport Expo officially gets underway today, promising a thrilling weekend of speed, skill and spectacle. Fans are in for two days of high-octane action, from blazing cars and drifting stunts to spectacular displays of speed and precision.

Event organiser Bradley Ferreira confirmed that everything is ready for the start of the motoring exhibition, which opened its gates to the public at 10:00 this morning.

Headlining the exhibition is M&Z Motors, the exclusive vehicle exhibitor for the event. They are showcasing ten of their global brands, including Mercedes-Benz, JAC Motors, LDV, Mitsubishi, Fiat, Jeep, Hyundai and Kia. Visitors will also have the opportunity to test drive some of the latest models on the market.

The high-octane action will continue this evening when spinning and drag racing take centre stage.

The excitement will carry over into Saturday, with gates opening early at 09:00. The day begins with the Vasbyt endurance challenge at 08:00, testing drivers’ grit and stamina, before the track is cleared for the Gymkhana and the main drifting event later in the evening.

Adding to the thrill, five professional drift cars have travelled from Johannesburg, South Africa, to take part in the event, bringing an international edge to the weekend’s festivities.

In addition to the racing, the expo promises a festive atmosphere with live DJs, great food and family entertainment, creating a memorable experience for all visitors.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate on both days.

“People can come and buy their tickets at the gate as well. It’s going to be the event of the year,” Ferreira concluded.

With engines roaring, tyres burning and international talent joining the line-up, the Motorsport Expo 2025 is officially underway at Tony Rust, setting the stage for a weekend that celebrates the very best of Namibian and regional motorsport passion.
