Black Africa slapped with N$100 000 fine

Black Africa FC, who in their heyday appeared almost unbeatable as the kings of club football in Namibia, has been dealt another devastating and embarrassing blow.
As the current bottom team in the NFA Southern Stream First Division, Black Africa has been fined N$100 000 after failing to honour three match fixtures in the division.
The division’s disciplinary committee ordered the club to settle the fine in 30 days from now.
The committee further decided that the relegation-threatened, former five-times premier league champions are docked nine points as a result of failing to play against Eleven Arrows, Blue Boys and Latinos FC.
The football club, which was relegated from topflight football last season, has found themselves in all kinds of troubles and shocked headlines after going through a power struggle between two leadership factions who both claim ownership of the football club.
One Black Africa fan, Titus Mupia, expressed his dismay over the way things have been going at his club for the past few years.
“I do not know what we did to deserve this, but Black Africa has honestly become a shadow of itself and there seem to be no way this football club will rise again.
“I am so sad that the leaders of the football club do not care about our pain, but are driven by egos and hatred.
“This used to be a big club, with rich history and representing the country in continental competitions. It therefore breaks my heart for what has been happening right now,” Mupia fumed.
The monetary fine comes at a time the football club is also rooted at the bottom of the Southern Stream First Division, after failing to secure any points so far.
The former Namibia Premier League powerhouse, who won the NPL titles three times in a row (1997-98 to 2000) and four times in a row (2011-2014) once enjoyed long golden eras.
But they now face the bleakest of futures and is on course to be relegated to the NFA’s second division if they do not miraculously rediscover winning form at the soonest opportunity.
