African Stars backs Crete Gymnastics for Paris World Cup

African Stars Football Club stepped beyond the football pitch to support Crete Gymnastics Club’s elite and international section on Tuesday, sponsoring the athletes with bags and tracksuits ahead of their upcoming global competition.
The club said the gesture aims to encourage collaboration between Namibia’s various sports codes in a shared effort to uplift athletes and help them achieve their international dreams.
The sponsorship comes ahead of Crete Gymnastics’ participation in the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup from 13 to 14 September in Paris, France.
Crete will be represented by three gymnasts: Milan Schutte, Otja Katjerungu and Aryanna Silver Moodley, accompanied by coach Nadine Jaeger.
African Stars chairperson Salomo Hei said the initiative reflects the importance of unity in Namibian sport.
“The sports ecosystem is growing, and Namibia is starting to expand its presence internationally. As a football club, we know the challenges of competing abroad, so when the request came to assist a gymnastics team going to represent the country, we felt it was our obligation to help. We believe this small contribution can take them closer to their goals and perhaps one day bring gold medals in gymnastics to Namibia,” Hei said.
He added that the partnership demonstrates the value of cross-code collaboration.
“It is not just about gymnastics. We want to extend our reach and support other sports like hockey and many more. We hope Corporate Namibia will also come on board so we can help more athletes compete on the global stage, win medals for the nation and develop sport into a thriving industry.”
Individuals or entities interested in sponsoring the club can contact 085 129 9679 or email [email protected].
