‘Ride-hailing apps will benefit from the Games’ - Hamutumwa

Ride-hailing services such as Yango, InDrive and Lefa are expected to benefit from the upcoming African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games, according to AUSC local organising committee chairperson and of the Namibia National Olympic Committee president, Dr Ndeulipula Hamutumwa.
Speaking at the AUSC’s final press conference held in Windhoek on Tuesday, which was attended by sports leaders from the ten participating nations, Hamutumwa said local ride-hailing platforms will play a key role in transporting guests during the Games.
“Logistics and transportation are core aspects of the Games, not just transport, but safe and readily available transport,” he said. “Most of our guests will be provided with adequate logistics support, from the airport to their residences and competition venues, both in Windhoek and Swakopmund.”
