SWAKOP BUZZES WITH FESTIVE FOOD, FLAIR AND JOY
SWAKOP BUZZES WITH FESTIVE FOOD, FLAIR AND JOY: Swakopmund was alive with festive energy this past weekend as two major events – the Swakopmund Food Fair and the Swakopmund Festive Fair – drew locals and visitors alike to celebrate good food, local culture and the holiday season.
The Swakopmund Food Fair, held from 18 to 20 December at the Amphitheatre on Tobias Haiyneko Street, featured about 40 local food vendors offering a delicious variety of meals, including seafood and Namibian dishes. Attendees had the opportunity to sample different foods while enjoying the coastal setting.
At the same time, the Swakopmund Festive Fair on Daniel Tjongarero Street offered stalls selling handcrafted gifts, Christmas treats, artisanal products and seasonal decorations. Families and shoppers visited the fair to browse products and enjoy seasonal entertainment as well.
Both events drew steady crowds and provided residents with options for holiday shopping and local food. They also reinforced Swakopmund’s position as a hub for community events as well as the #CentreOfAdventure during the festive season.
