Labour minister Fillemon Wise Immanuel says government, employers and workers must use continuous social dialogue to resolve workplace disputes before they escalate into strikes or lockouts.

Speaking at a Mineworkers Union of Namibia (MUN) roundtable in Oranjemund this week, he stressed that workers’ voices must help shape policies and laws.

He also warned that artificial intelligence (AI) and automation are changing the nature of work, calling for urgent skills development to keep workers competitive.
