Water disruptions hit Oshakati, Karibib
NamWater has announced planned and ongoing water supply interruptions affecting Oshakati, Ondangwa, Karibib, Otjimbingwe, and surrounding areas.
A six-hour shutdown on the Oshakati-Ondangwa pipeline is scheduled for Friday, 16 January, from 08:00 to 14:00, affecting Ehenye, Onawa, Omashekediva, Okaku, and nearby villages.
Meanwhile, supply to Karibib and Otjimbingwe remains unstable due to repeated pump failures at Swakoppoort Dam. The utility plans to install a new pump on 16 January to restore normal supply.
NamWater urges residents and institutions to use water sparingly. Water tankers will service critical sites, including schools, hospitals, and other essential facilities.
