The Namibia Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced the election of its executive director, Toska Sem, as vice president for the Southern Region of the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) Bureau for a three-year term.

The governing body is the second-highest decision-making entity within AFCAC, representing the interests of SADC member states and the African continent.

AFCAC, a specialised agency of the African Union, oversees civil aviation across Africa. It is also responsible for implementing the Yamoussoukro Decision, the foundation for the Single African Air Transport Market.

"This achievement highlights her dedication, expertise and unwavering commitment to advancing safety, security and sustainable aviation. Her leadership and vision are poised to play a transformative role in shaping the future of aviation on the continent," the NCAA said.
