Support for Dagbreek
NEWS IN SHORT
FNB Namibia, through FirstRand Namibia, has donated N$130 000 to Dagbreek School to establish a unique training centre. The school’s urban farm and skills training facility aims to holistically educate children living with intellectual disabilities and help them lead happy lives.
“This is more than just training facilities. It is a pathway to independence for these learners and provides them with a sense of purpose and inclusion in their respective communities," Revonia Job of FirstRand said.
“Access to quality education and skills training remains a challenge in Namibia. While we support our government’s efforts to increase access, we also recognise the gap that exists for children with intellectual disabilities. Therefore, the private sector must step in and help level the playing field," she added.
